WEDDING
SMITH—PAYNE.
The Berhampore Baptist Church was attractively decorated for the wedding of Kathleen, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Payne, and Norman, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Smith. ' ■ ■ .
The bride, who,was escorted by her father, wore a charming gown of crepe satin and angelskin lace cut on classical lines. Her veil * was gathered into a coronet of orange blossoms. -She carried a trailer bouquet of white cyclamens, sweet peas, orchids, and maidenhair fern. She was attended by her cousin, Miss Eileen Burns, who wore a dainty frock of pastel pink rainstorm crepe and a Juliet cap of silver leaves and rose petals. Her bouquet was of pink sweet peas, carnations, and maidenhair fern.
Mr. D. Johns'ton«(Berhampore) was best man. The Rev. Forde Carlisle officiated, and Mr. Duncan presided at the organ. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a silver horseshoe by little Aileen Payne. A reception was held at the Masonic Hall, Berhampore, where about 100 guests were entertained. Items were given by Miss Petrie, Mr. Walker,Mrs. Duguid, and Miss J. McDonald (Napier). The bride's mother was wearing a navy blue and floral ensemble, and Mrs. Smith, who assisted her, wore a black ensemble. The bridc&s travelling outfit was a navy blue costume and hat.
