Snowball was at a surprisingly good price in the three-horse field for the Waipipi Handicap, for her form on.the first day, when she led into the straight in the principal event, looked superior to that of the other pair, and in addition' she had the services of W. J. Broughton. The pool on this race was Snowball was allowed to settle down at the rear, and it proved profitable policy when Royal Routine went out wide entering the straight and carried Full Throttle with him. Snowball then came through the highway thus opened and went on to score-by three lengths from the favourite. Royal Routine. It was Snowball's first open-company win, but she had previously gone promisingly in-the ■class, mclvuiing the Whyte Handicap at the Wellington [Winter Meeting. ....- ,
