GOLDEN JUBILEE BAZAAR

The Kent Terrace Presbyterian bazaar was opened yesterday afternoon by Sir James Elliott, in the presence of a large audience. Lady Elliott received a beautiful bouquet, which was handed to her by little Rosemary Appleton.

The following were the stallholders:— Fancy work, Mesdames Dunnet, McGregor, and McLean; plain sewing, Mesdames Card, Bell and M. Bell; bathroom, Mesdames McKay and De Cent;- produce, Mesdames Frazer and Jardine; cakes, Mesdames Guise, Marshall, and Richardson; flower stall, Mesdames Farcy, King, and Miss Vera Dawson; sweets, Mrs. E. Webb and Misses Ryan, Eyers, and Bayly; Bible class stall, Miss McGregor; tearoom, Mesdames Murray, Cook, Avery, McMillan, and Wall, and Miss Atkins.,.

Miss Henry recited and Miss Fleming gave several musical items on the piano. In the evening the hall was crowded to listen to an interesting and varied programme. A nail-driving competition and hat-trimming competition caused much amusement. The pupils of Miss Margaret Oates entertained with songs and dances. The following ladies of the guild took part in a sketch entitled "A Sewing Circle Fifty Years Ago":—Mesdames Bell, M. Bell, Fraser, Hebbens, Jardine, De Cent, King, Good, Misses McKenzie and De Cent.

After supper had been served it was announced that the proceeds of the bazaar had amounted to £75.
