More than 60 experiments have beel begun by the Roads Department of tW •Ministry of Transport under the guicj ance of the Technical Committee, wiUI the object of-finding the best materials for the construction and surface treatment of roads. , These experiments relate to me determination of the best colour for road surfaces from the point of view or night driving, to the durability of various forms of top-dressing, and to tha problem of skidding. . They are being carried out in various parts of tha country. .
