NEW ZEALANDERS' PARTY

Another very pleasant, evening was (spent when the New Zealanders1 Association held their second social in the Jewish Ladies' Club, Cuba Street, last night. In. spite of the rain,,there was a very good attendance of members and their friends, all of whom thoroughly appreciated the musical and elocutionary programme presented by the following artists:—Miss Ngaire McNeely (action song, "Dancing Lesson"), Miss Valeric Fitzgerald (recitations, "Mr. Bear" and "Little Greenstone Tiki"), Miss Rose Walter (action song, "Wishes"), Miss Florence Coburn (recitation, "Gay Princess" and a skipping dance). Mrs. W. Watson wasthe accompanist for the musical items. A ballet by pupils of. Miss Hazel Martin was a very popular item. Miss Burns sang two songs, "The Huia Song" and "My Dear," both, of which were composed by Mrs. O. Shakespeare, who played the accompaniments. Mr. J. Stopf orth presented two elocutionary items "Not Understood" (New, Zealand composition) and "Como." " Memories of the early days in Wellington were revived by the president, Mr. CMclntyre,, who made an interesting speech. . . . A dainty supper was served by the lady members of the committee, who comprised Mesdames'C. Mclntyre, J. Burnett, A. Gibson, N. Scholes, t H. Peach, K. Elliott, and Miss S. Shearer.

Those present included Mr. and Mrs. Rust, Mr. and Mrs. C.Cording, Mr. and Mrs. P. Mudgway, Mr.' and Mrs. Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Mulcahyi Mr. and Mrs. Tarrant, Mesdames M. Fitzgerald, T. Tracy, J. P. Stopforth, London, F, McNeely, Misses C. Hansen; M. Tankard, G. Templeton, Hazel Martin, P, Houghton, H. London, X. ; Howard; and Messrs. E. C. Hotter, W. E. Vine, A. a Kellett, H. Stewart, D. Griffiths, C. Tandy, Cedric Fuller, Williams, Gill, F. Smith, H. Peach, and Colonel Mabin.
