Mr. Walter Blackie; whose death, has occurred at the age of 84, was a wellknown and successful farmer at Lochend, Mosgiel. For many years he was a member of the Taieri County Council, of which he was at various times chairman, and he was also a member of the District Highway Council, and the Taieri River Trust, and a life member of the Taieri A. and P. Society.
