PIGEON RACING
The Petone Homing Pigeon Club flew a race on Saturday from Taumarunui, an airline distance of 164 ■ miles. Eighty birds competed, representing ten lofts. The birds were liberated at 9 a.m. by the stationmaster, who advised that the weather was fine and there was a light southerly wind. The birds had a fairly strong' wind all the way. Bold and son's b.p.c. (1022), 4: A. Drain and son's r.r.c., (1018), 5; C. Culshaw's b.c.h. ■ (1006), 7; F. Eriksen's.rx.h. (982), 7; ; P. Mexted's b.c.c. ,(979), 8.
