The obligation, was on the Government to have a complete investigation not onlyof:, the ramifications, .of the particular concern but of the . whole of -the concerns involved, in forestry in. New Zealand. . If the. Bill, went through an, investigation ...would, be | made. Such an inquiry would cover all aspects, of the matter. . The:. Prime. Minister said that the Government was anxious to encourage industry,.-and if this was all right it wanted to help it. But they had so much evidence in the opposite direction that they could not, evade the position. They had to clear their minds about this matter. The Leader of' the Opposition (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) said there was no doubt some action would have to be taken in regard to afforestation companies. ;
