ARBOR DAY

LOCAL CELEBRATIONS

Under the auspices of the "Wellington Horticultural Society and the National Art Gallery and Carillon Board of Trustees, a tree-planting ceremony is to take place in the grounds of the art gallery, at 2.30 p.m. next Wednesday. Their Excellencies the Gov-ernor-General and Lady Galway have consented to. be present and plant the first trees.

The Hon. W. E. Parry, the Mayor (Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, C.M.G.), Mr. Geo. Troup, C.M.G., Mrs! Knox Gilmer, Captain S. Holm, and Mr. J. A. .Campbell will take part in the ceremony.

Citizens interested in the purpose of Arbor Day and what it represents are invited to be present at the ceremony.
