The Hon. Sir R. Heaton \ Rhodes, M.L.C., suffered a sudden heart attack yesterday morning at the Midland Hotel, where he has been staying, and was removed'immediately to Bowen Street Hospital. Last evening his condition had improved greatly, and "it was satisfactory today after a comfortable night, x '. ■' :
The Rev. G. K. Moir, M.A., vicar of Brooklyn, who has completed 26 years of service in Melanesia and New Zealand, is resigning his present cure to take up work in Scotland (states "The Church Chronicle"). .His successor at Brooklyn will be the Rev. W. Tye, 8.A., vicar of Wanganui Parochial District for the past twelve years.- The Rev. W. M. Smallfield, of Claudelahds, Hamilton, has been appointed to the cure of the Wanganui Parochial District. . . ■ -
The Rev. G. F; Petrie, vicar of St. Michael's, Kelburn, after an enforced absence of some weeks owing to serious ' indisposition of health^ has resumed his parochial duties.
