MEDICAL SCHOOL
♦ BOARD'S DESIRE DRASTIC RECOMMENDATIONS (By Telegraph.—Pres9 Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. The Auckland Hospital Board, at a special meeting last night, decided to approach the Prime Minister with a view to having a medical school established in Auckland. A report making drastic recommendations for the hospital was made to the board by Mr. G. Grey Camppell, who, appointed recently to survey the whole of the board's organisation, found a lack of co-ordination and an absence of efficient supervision in all units. He recommended the co- j ordination of service units in one block of buildings, and asked the board to (consider whether the present method of medical staffing could be improved upon. He stated it was essential to delegato authority and responsibility to one competent chief executive officer to carry out the policy of the board and be responsible for efficiency. The entire organisation of the board was deferred until consideration of the report.
