1 lie "'News Chronicle's" Warsaw .correspondent telegraphs that the Polish Press stataTtliat the Nazis intend to militarise Danzig and turn it into a big base for North-cast Europe. Three infantry regiments, three batteries of artillery, and several squadrons of bombers will form the nucleus of the Danzig army. Storm Troopers arc being transformed into a regular standing army officered by German Reichswehr officers under the command of1 the East Prussian divisional headquarters.
Herr Groiser, Nazi President of the Danzig Senate, states that the army is being created against the day when Herr Hitler announces the freedom of Danzig to the world as he announced the freedom of the Rhineland. Training is at present being carried out in secret, neither officers nor men wearing uniforms. °
