Sir, —The residents of Northland Road have been disturbed at nights lately, and in particular in the early hours of Friday morning by the operations of the tramway department's rail-grinding car, which commences its row about midnight and does not cease till about 6 a.m. Surely this job could be done during ordinary working hours. .There is only a half-hour service on this line during most of the day and on Sundays no cars are run. Why disturb the sleep of nearby residents? Better still, why not take the rails up and run trolley buses. —I am, etc M
