BOYS' INSTITUTE

The monthly meeting of the Boys' Institute management committee was held recently, and was well attended, Mr. W. A. Parton presiding.

The director reported that the gymnastic classes, games room, Scout group, Soccer and Rugby practice had been well attended during the month. The large attendance of young boys had caused some congestion in the clubrooms. and the boarders' sittingroom had been called into use to accommodate the overflow. The introduction of cocoa and biscuits before closing time during the winter months had proved very popular. Arrangements for a street day appeal to be held on September 10 was discussed, and a subcommittee was set up to assist the director in its organisation.
