LEVIN LABOUR PARTY

(Special to the "Evening Post.") LEVIN, This Day. A largely-attended social was held at Levin on Thursday. under the auspices of the Levin Labour Party. During the evening Mr. R. Dowries, of Shannon, president of the Labour Representation Committee of the Manswatu electorate, presented a handsome chiming clock to Mr. H. J. Taylor, president of the Levin branch of the Labour Party, as a tribute to his services to the party over a period of twenty years. Mr. L. G. Lowry, M.P., for Otaki, also spoke and apologised for the absence of Mr. C. L. Hunter, M.P. for Manawatu, who is at present engaged in official business in the Cook Islands. J

Mr. Taylor, in .replying, acknowledged the assistance given by Mrs. Taylor and those with whom he had been associated.
