DISCUSSION AT ADDINGTON

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 17. A proposal that the restoration of wages cuts should be made from April 1 instead of July 1 was discussed today at a meeting of between 400 and 500 Addington workshops employees. A motion was submitted to the meeting expressing disappointment that the railwaymen's. qrganisations had not been able to elicit from the Minister of Railways a defijite statement in reply to their demantf'that the restoration of wage cuts should be made retrospective from April 1. An amendment to the motion was finally carried that the matter be left to the unions. A further amendment that the Government's policy remain unquestioned for two years was overwhelmingly defeated.
