MEETING AT NGAIO
.There was a g^ood attendance at the Ngaio meeting of the League of Mothers,; over which Mrs. Cumminas presided,--.- ■ : ■ h
AH members stood in silence l- in memory of the late Mrs. Ernest Daw-
Seventeen new .members were ad mitted into league fellowship. The Rev. Mr. Rollings, in giving an address on the ideals of the league, appealed to all mothers to standguard over the hearts, minds, and- bodies of their growing boys.and girls, thus laying a sure foundation'for the future. ' ■ At the conclusion of his address Mrs Cummings • presented Mr. Rollings with a beautiful basket of fruit and Mrs, Rollings with.a posy of flowers •Songs sung by Mesdames Collins and Menzies were much appreciated, and afternoon tea was served.
Mrs.'Doctor addressed the members of the Plimmerton Institute at the July meeting. The subject, "A Day in a Bungalow in India," Was very interestingly described and was enjoyed by all present. Mrs. Doctor also sang two delightful solos. A floral token of appreciation was presented to Mrs. Doctor by Mrs. Atkin. Mrs. Hume's resignation as president, owing to her election as federation president, was accepted with regret, and Mrs Atkin was. elected to the vacant office Arrangements were made for the birthday of the branch, also for various activities in the future. Afternoon tea was daintily served by the hostesses, Mesdames Lankshear Friis. and Miss' Godfrey. and then all present joined in a short community siiig. and the meeting concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
