SEAMEN ENTERTAINED

A very enjoyable social and dance was given recently by the Catholic Seamen's Institute, to entertain the men from the numerous ships in port. Those contributing items were Misses Shirley McDonald, Betty Paynter, and June . King, who gave some excellent solo dances1 and trios; Mrs Treacy and Miss Peters, whose vocal numbers were highly appreciated; and Miss Jeane Coker, whose humorous recitations caused much laughter Little Jack Treacy also recited. Mr! Strivens (Ruahine) played some very fine violin selections, and Mr. Stratton (Ruahirie) sang very ' pleasingly Messrs. P. A. Lindsay, Strivens, and Miss N. Delaney supplied the dance music and accompaniments. The president welcomed all the men, and ,thanked the artists for.their kindrfess ■"i making the evening such a success.
