GAMES FOR JULY 25

Approval of fixtures for lower grade representatives teams of the Wellington Rugby Union's competition was given by the union's management committee at the weekly meeting last night. Senior fixtures for club games on July 25, the last Saturday before the start of several representative flxtures, were drawn up as follows:— Senior A (First Division). . Wellington College Old Boys v. Wellington, to be arranged. Poneke v. Petone, to be arranged. Athletic v, Eastbourne, Eastbourne. Hutt v. St. Patricks College Old Boys, Hutt. . ' Marist Bros. .Old Boys v. Johnsonville, Athletic Park (early). Second Division. Athletic v. Oriental, Kilbirnie. University v; United, Kelburn. Miramar v. Pirates, Wakefield. Wellington College Old.Boys v. Wellington, Prince of Wales. 1 Senior B. " Eastbourne v. Onslow, Nairnville. Marist v. Hutt, in town. University v. Poneke, in town. Porirua v. Petone, in town. The Wairarapa Rugby Union advised acceptance of August '26 as the date of the match with Wellington at Masterton. On the recommendation of tis junior advisory committee, the union agreed to play the junior representative match between Wellington ■ and Wairarapa as a curtain-raiser to the Auckland-Wellington match at Athletic Park on August 15. It was also decided that August 1 should be a date to suggest to the Manawatu Rugby Union for the junior representative game, in preference to the original date, August IS. Approval of a fixture between Horowhenua juniors and Wellington thirds for August 15 in Wellington was given, and approval was .also given, provided the games i were played at 1.30 at the College grounds, for the annual representativeJ matches between Combined Colleges and Clubs in the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh grades. Consequent on the action of the Institute Old Boys' Club in withdrawing from the third division of the third grade, the union decided to make a redraw of the grade 'and to withdraw the recently-entered United team from the first division to the third.

Wellington Technical College was granted permission to play its annual match with Wanganui Technical College at the Prince of Wales ground, subject to its being available, on Friday. The union undertook to provide a referee for the game, which will start at 2.p.m.

Permission for the following matches was given:—Science Society, Victoria University College, Kelburn Park, July 29; Public Service v. New Zealand Railways, Athletic Park, August 18 or August 19 (subject to ground being fit for play) proceeds for charity.
