BIG CITY BUILDING

A TENDER ACCEPTED

It is understood that the tender of the Fletcher Construction Company has been accepted by the New Zealand Insurance Company for the erection of their eight-storeyed building atj the corner of Featherston and Johnston Streets. The building, which will be modern in every degree, will be-of fully earthquake-resisting reinforced ! concrete construction and will carry a red 'granite facing on the lower floors of both frontages. Messrs. Gummer and Ford, Auckland, are the archi.tects. The contract price is stated to be in the neighbourhood of £70,000.
