BURGLAR FRUSTRATED
BOLT FOR A MOTOR-CAR (By Telegraph.—Press Association,) WAIPUKURAU, This Day. A daring burglary was perpetrated about 2.30 this morning. A man, thought by the night watchman, Mr. E. G. Price, to be between thirty and thirty-five years of age, was found by him on the premises of H. B ; . Poppellwell and Co., Main Street, packing up men's clothing into boxes. The man escaped and apparently reached a waiting car. He left an overcoat, chisel, and tire lever behind in his hurried exit. ' The man or a confederate evidently stole twelve gallons of petrol from F. Wells's garage after smashing the lock. Endeavours were made to enter two other shops.
