SYNOPSIS FOR 48 HOURS. Since Saturday an anticyclone has been advancing gradually across the Tasman Sea on to New Zealand, and this morning its centre was located off the east coast oL' Otago where at places pressure was as high asi 30.5- inches. The. weather for the most part has been fair tee fine, but it lias been rather cloudy on the oast coast south of East Caps and- occasional showers have fallen in that area. Cold southerly winds have prevailed and have freshened at times on the east coast» but otherwise they have'been light to moderate and-by .this morning a change to northerlies had occurred in the extreme south.
