HOMING PIGEONS

The Wellington Homing Pigeon So-1 ciety continued its series of weekly shows in the showroom, Newtown Avenue, on Saturday night, before a large atendance of interested fanciers and friends. The class was for young cocks, and was judged by Mr. H. Clark, an old fancier and life member of the society, and his decisions were received with satisfaction by all. Fifty-three entries were penned, and some splendid pigeons were exhibited. The following were the placings, the winner receiving a silver cup donated by Mr. A. Wilton, and also good prize-money: Smith and Boxall, 1 and cup; Dickey Bros.. 2; N. Boyd and Son, 3; Smith and Boxall, v.h.c.; Smith and Boxall, h.c.; F. Couper and Son, c. Next Saturday night the class will be for young hens and will be judged by Mr. W. Clarke. j
