STAMPING OF BOWLS
Having considered a communication from Wellington with regard to the indistinct stamping of bowls, the executive of the New Zealand Bowling Association has decided to recommend to the annual meeting of the council: "That all bowls in use bearing a stamp previous to that of 1934 shall be retested and restamped with the . 1936 stamp."
Subject to confirmation at the annual meeting of the council, approval has been given to.two new makes of bowl.
Provided their rules are sept to the secretary by September 1, the affiliation of the Murchison (Nelson centre) and Renown (South Auckland) Clubs has been approved by the executive of the N.Z.B.A.
The Manawatu Centre is proposing an amendment of the rules to provide that a player, after delivering his bowl, must not encroach on the adjacent
Manawatu is also desirous that all section winners in the singles championship shall be allowed to: go forward to post-section play under equal conditions. To avoid disappointment to visiting bowlers through being left without a conveyance, Manawatu is suggesting that for social functions and official trips during Dominion tournaments a system of booking seats for visitors be introduced. It is also urged by Manawatu that the rule providing that players in New Zealand tournaments must be bonafide members of an affiliated club should be enforced for all New Zealand competitors. LEVIN CLUB (Special to ths "Evening Post.") LEVIN, This Day. The annual meeting of the Levin Bowling Club was held last week, there being a good attendance of members. The financial statement showed a credit balance of over £70, the club's assets amounting to £750. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mr. H. Denton; vice-presi-dent, Dr. L, J. Hunter; secretary, Mr. W. Shennan; management committee, Messrs. W. M. Allen, A. L. Cameron, J. Challies, P. Healy, R. W. Percy, C. Sherwood, H. Walker; hon. auditor; Mr. H. A. Robertson; delegates to the Manawatu Centre, Messrs. H. Denton and G. Stephenson.
