SALVATION ARMY BAND

CONCERT.

For over fifty years the Wellington Citadel Salvation Army. Band has been a familiar sight on the streets of this city. Their services have frequently been in demand for civic, social, and patriotic purposes. Past- bandmasters, Major H. C. Goffin and Harold Scotney, have been prominent figures in the brass band world of New Zealand and through their efforts the band has reached a high state of efficiency. Next Monday, in the Vivian Street Citadel, the band, under Bandmaster H. Goffin, assisted by talented friends, will present a programme that .should be well worth hearing. Concerted numbers by the band will include "Gems from the Great Matsers," a brilliant selection arranged by Robert McAnally, of Melbourne, and the selection "King of Kings," by Eric Ball, which is a portrayal in music of the life of our Lord.; Cornet and trombone duets will provide evidence of the technical facility of the soloists. The programme is in connection -with the their annual band i weekend and is designed to increase 1 the band fund for the purchase of new | instruments.
