PORIRUA INSTITUTE
A fair number of members attended the April meeting of the Porirua Women's Institute, when Mrs. Ryan presided, and thanked officers and mem,bers for their1, help in. making the. past year a successful and happy one.
'.. Delegates were appointed to attend the annual council meeting of the federation and the Dominion conference.
Members were very interested in Mrs. Renwick's clear demonstration of the making of beaded jug-covers. Mrs. Evans won' the prize "for the ■competition "A Literary Banquet," and a guessing competition resulted in the sum of £3,1s 9d being raised for the Otaki Health Camp, and in a cushion being won by Miss Cocker.
A great deal of amusement was caused by the roll call "Sing, Say,.or Pay.'? . .. ■■ •.-.■■■-■ .■■:■;■
Thanks were given to Mrs. Renwick and to all who had helped to make the afternoon pass so pleasantly.
