BLOW AT UNDERWORLD

NEW YORK, April 23.
The special prosecutor in Mr. Dewey's "vice clean-up" struck another blow at the underworld today, when Charles ("Lucky") Luciano, reputed to be the city's leading gang leader, and twelve henchmen were indicted as operators of a chain of disorderly houses within the metropolitan district. All are held in gaol under prohibitive bail, totalling 1,100,000 dollars. They are indicted on ninety counts, conviction on all of which would entail'possible sentences ranging "from 180 to 1800 years each.
