Speaking at the service at the Newlown School, Captain S. Frickleton, V.C., said he would never .forget what his old schoolmaster at. Bannockburn, Scotland, had taught them. It was his idea that the-best thing they could do in lifg was.to. try and make others happy, irrespective of what - happened to themselves, for they would receive happiness from- others who carried the germ.. •. .• .-, -. ...■ ': .■ ,• ■■ ■■ -■
Mr.• W.-.8.- Bradley, chairman of the school committee, presided. After the singing of the hymn "O God, Our Help in Ages Past," a- reading from the Scripture was given by the Rev. George Mathieson, and the singing of the "Recessional" was followed by a prayer offered by the- Rev.; Mr.'Parker. The singing •■ of the 'National Anthem concluded the service. ' '■■
