ECHO OF LINDBERGH CASE

(Received April 27, 3 p.m.)

NEW YORK, April 26,

' The Lindbergh case produced _ a sequel in New York with the indictment of four men for kidnapping Paul Wendel, whose "confession" of murdering the baby gained Hauptmann three days of life after he had been scheduled to die. One of those indicted is Ellis Parker, junior, son of the famous New Jersey detective, whom Governor Hoffman employed in an attempt to prove Hauptmann innocent. According to the charge Parker, junior and his accomplices assaulted Wendel in New York, kidnapped him, and held him prisoner, while he was transported to New Jersey. The case developed in startling fashion when Ellis Parker, jun., eluded the police. He is alleged to have determined to avoid indictment on the kidnapping charge. New Jersey officials have curtly ordered Ellis Parker to arrest his son on sight. ■
