SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS. Pressure has'remained fairly high over the Dominion, an intense anticyclone still being centred to the eastward, but a 1 very slight disturbance crossed the South Island yesterday. The latter was responsible for some scattered rain in western districts . south from Cape Egmont and the far couth, but for the most part the weather has been fair and mild. Fogs have been very prevalent on the coast south from Banks Peninsula. Northerly winds have predominated, and yesterday wore strong in parts of t!le Cook Strait area, but otherwisethey havo been light to moderate in force.
