BIG RIVER.

The Big River report for the week ended April 1 states that repairs to the shaft below No. 4 chamber have now been completed, and the guides placed in position, ready for the cages to commence running to No 5 level. Further repairs have been put in hand at a point 20ft below No 2 level chamber and from there to about 80ft above No. 2 level. Repairs to the access whize in Cosgrove's block part of No. r^ntermediat! level are being undertaken preparatory to recommencing work in tMs section. Progress in the repairs to the dam was retarded owing to heavy rain, but work here has now been resumed.
