Captain J. J. Clark, president of thg Wellington branch of the South African War Veterans' Association, left for Blenheim by air on Saturday and while in the South Island will meef South African veterans at Blenheim, Nelson, Motueka, Takaka, and Collingwood. Mr. Francis'L. Philpott, of St. Patrick's College, Wellington, son of Mr. H. E. Philpott, M.1.E.E., has received cable advice that he has been, awarded a "Worcester Scholarship." He leaves for England immediately by the Turakina to, join the H.M.S. Worcester preparatory to joining the Mercantile Marine. Mr. L. V. Moses, a well-known Aucki land architect, has been appointed to the directorate' of Messrs. J. R. Mo Kenzie, Ltd., and arrived yesterday in Wellington, where he will in future reside. ■ • •■ • .. Lieutenant Rodney Thomson, who was naval aide-de-camp to Viscount Bledisloe when he was Governor-Gene-ral of New Zealand, is leaving for England by the Port Brisbane, tomorrow. • Mr. Jas (Robb, who has resigned from the commercial staff oC the "Evening Post" to take up a position with the Texas Co, (Aust), Ltd., was met .by his colleagues on Saturday.and presented with a leather tennis racket case, and a fountain pen, as a token of esteem.
