MITCHELL—DONALD.

A wedding-of interest was celebrated in .Masterton on Saturday evening when Margaret Vivian,, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. V.. E. Donald, of "Rolopeko," Lansdowne, was married to Alexander, second son of Colonel G. Mitchell, Wellington, and the late Mrs. Mitchell. The ceremony, which took place in St. Matthew's Church, was conducted by the Rev. E. Rich, and was fully choral. The church was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride. The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a gown of soft ivory lace, the skirt forming a full train. Rows of tiny crystal buttons trimmed the longfitting sleeves and back of the bodice, and the daintily embroidered veil, which was worn well back off the face, was1 caught at the' Sides with small sprays .of orange blossoms. The matron of honour, Mrs. A. E. Preston, sister of the bride, and the bridesmaids, Misses Alison Donald, Aden, Mitchell, and Roma McClure, looked attractive in frocks of forget-me-not blue lace with slight trains, and dainty blue hats of flowers and tulle. They wore crystal necklaces, gifts of the bridegroom. The bouquets carried by the bride and her attendants were made and presented by a friend of the bride and bridegroom, Mr. Dennis Fairbrother. The groomsmen were Messrs. John Mitchell, Wellington, Val Donald, Hadden Donald, and Ray Hansard, Masterton. Messrs. Ted Preston (Wellington), Harry Robinson, and Bob Todd, Masterton, and Mr.. Don Ewing, Woodville, acted as ushers. The bride's; mother, Mrs. Vivian Donald, received her guests at the Ranfurly Club, wearing a smart gown of brown marocain, lace coat, and brown straw hat, and carried an exquisite bouquet. ° After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. A. Mitchell left-for the south en route to Lake Manapouri, the bride travelling in an ensemble of deep periwinkle blue,. trimmed with navy braid and a navy tyrolean hat. Albrechtsen and the late Jurgen Albrechtsen, Eketahuna, and Gerald Gordon, youngest son of Mrs. M. Mar.telli-and the late H. de Coursay Martelli, Christchurch, and nephew of MajorrGeneral H. de Coursay Martelli, Governor-General of Jersey' Islands,' was solemnised at St. .Cuthbert's Church, Eketahuna, recently. - The> bride, who was escorted by Mr. W. Duff, Hastings, wore a dainty frock of pastel shade lace over pale pink satin, made in the Juliet style. Her veil, which was worn over the face, was of pastel shade tulle, arranged with a halo of-lace, and she carried a sheaf of pink gladioli and carnations. The bride was attended by her cousin, Miss Pearl Madsen, and Miss Helen Reid t both of Wellington, who wore quaint frocks of marina blue taffeta cut on medieval lines. They wore taffeta caps trimmed with blue flowers, silver leaves, and eye-veils, and carried sheafs of apricot gladioli and roses. Mr. F. Dean, Wellington, was best man, and Mr. J. Adams, Wellington, acted as groomsman. A reception was held at the Oddfellows' Hall, where over 90 guests were received by the bride's mother, who wore a black lace frock 'with shoulder spray of marina blue flowers, and a black picture hat. The bridegroom's mother wore a navy patterned marocain frock with navy coat and hat to match, and both ladies carried bouquets of wine-shaded flowers. Mr. and Mrs. Martelli left later by car for the north; the bride wearing a smart navy, costume with hat and shoes of the same colour, and a beautiful fur and handbag, presents of the bridegroom.
