LIFE IMPRISONMENT
FARM HAND SENTENCED
TRAGEDY NEAR ADELAIDE
(Received February 12, 11.45 a.m.) ADELAIDE, February 11. Arthur Nelson Durrant, aged 22, who was arrested on September 30 and charged with having murdered his employer, Mr/Hugh Forbes, a farmer, aged 45, Mrs. Forbes, aged 40, and their daughter Joyce, aged 16 (who were found buried in a manure heap on Forties's farm), was sentenced to imprisonment for life with hard labour. Durrant had pleaded guilty to manslaughter when charged with having murdered Joyce Forbes. Durrant was found not guilty on the ground of insanity when charged some weeks ago with having rnurdered Mr. Hugh Forbes, father of Joyce.
