ODOURLESS ONIONS

Odourless onions, a boon long craved by humanity, are now a reality (states the Liverpool "Weekly Post"). As a result of a series of experiments there is growng today a new variety of onion having the greatly desired characteristic that leaves the breath of the eater untainted by tHe familiar odour of this wholesome.vegetable. "It is the sulphur content of the onion," said the experimenter, Dr. L. C. Shanklin, "that taints the breath and makes the eyes water. Investigations show that the odour from onions anri garlic is due to the oils contained in those vegetables."
