I (By Telegraph—Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, This Day. "Nigger Cannon," the second prizewinner in the "Lucky New Year" Art Union, is Mr. Alfred Smith, a married man with two children, who is on relief work. Last Wednesday he bought tickets for a passage to -Ingland for himself and family. He .lid today that had he not already bought the steamer tickets he would remain in New Zealand. He was formerly New Zealand open cornet champion and a member of the Greymouth Municipal Band. He chose "Nigger Cannon" as the name for his art union ticket in memory of a regimental sergeant in the Lancashire Fusiliers with which he served during the war. . <
