BUS FOR BROOKLYN

DEPUTATION'S REQUEST

Carrying a petition signed by 394 residents of Brooklyn, a deputation of three waited upon the tramways committee of the City Council today with a request for a bus service along Helen, Apuka, Mitchell, and Todman Streets at 4.20 and 5.20 p.m. daily, except Saturday.

The members of the deputation, the Rev. R. Raine and Messrs. T. Graham and E. C. Isaac, pointed out that, at present there was no means of conveyance in the district they wished served by a bus. At intervals throughout the day the Mornington bus stood at the Brooklyn Post Office for fifteen minutes, and they suggested that that time could be utilised in making the trip they desired, which would take only about five or six minutes.
