SERVICE AT DUNEDIN

DUNEDIN, This Day.
Thousands attended a commemorative service held in bright sunshine at the Cenotaph in Queen's Gardens from 10.50 a.m. to IJ. a.m., when the two minutes' silence was observed. The Silence was followed by an artillery salute of seventy guns. In addition to the military sections there were present detachments: of returned soldiers, Imperial ex-service men,- South African veterans, Legion of Frontiersmen, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, St. John Ambulance ■ Association members, and representatives of the City Council and local-bodies made up an official party. All business premises and factories were closed during the service.
