FORESTS AND BIRDS

(To the Editor.)

Sir, "Young New Zealand" is to be congratulated on the manner in which he discusses the subject of forest and bird destruction. It is very evident to anyone who studies these matters that there is a great lack of co-ordi-nated administration in forest and wild-life matters, with the result that there is a strong tendency for everyone to take what he can get in a "sauve gui peut" (devil take the hindmoslf) manner, without any regard to the future welfare of our children or our country.—l am, etc.,

OLD NEW ZEALAND.
