NEW ZEALAND AUTHORS' WEEK
An optimistic note was sounded at the last meeting of the general committee of "New Zealand Authors' Week." Mr. C. A. L. Treadwell presided, over a full attendance of members. Reports were received from the various provincial committees and sub-committees and were fully discussed. It was stated that interest in the movement in New Zealand was steadily growing. The resignation of Mr. A. G. Street, who is to take up permanent residence in Melbourne, was received, and Mr. A. H. Reed was elected to fill the vacancy. Owing to various unforeseen difficulties the week of exhibitions has been postponed until after Easter. The movement is issuing a fortnightly "Bulletin," which can be obtained at all booksellers and at the Public Library. The work of compiling the first authoritative bibliography of Now Zealand authors is proceeding steadily. The organiser will shortly pay visits to the main centres to advance the campaign.
