A MAN WITH FAITH
THE LATE SIR JAMES MILLS
A man who showed faith in God, faith in his fellow-men, and faith in himself was the summing-up by the Rev. E. M. McLevie, of the character of the late Sir James Mills, who died in London last week, and was commemorated at a service in St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral this afternoon.
All the shipping companies with offices in Wellington, and many other Wellington business ' houses were represented in the gathering it) the church of approximately 150 people. The Union Steam Ship Company, of which Sir James was one of the founders and chairman at the time of his death, had the strongest representation. Mr. H. W. Brodie, of the Canadian Pacific Railways head office, personally represented Sir Edward Beatty, chairman and president of the company. The memorial service was conducted by the Yen. Archdeacon W. Bullock, of St. Peter's, and the Rev. E. M. McLevie, vicar of Roseneath, gave the address.
Mr. F. Rowley played the organ, the congregation standing at the conclusion of the service while he played Grieg's "Death of Ase."
