Barclay, Chitf Commissioner for New Zealand, an m luminated address signed on behalf Of all divisions of the brigade in New Zealand, expressing appreciation of his long service as an administrative officer, and conveying the hope that he would long continue to control the brigade in New Zealand.
Dr. L. T. Buxton, administrator.of St. Patrick's Cathedral, Auckland, and Father G. M. Colgan, parish, priest at Avondale, left by the Monterey yesterday for Australia and will later make an extended tour of Europe.
The Rev. A. Hardie, Presbyterian minister at Martinborough, who ha! been appointed to the charge of St. Andrew's Church, Suva, for three years, will resign from the Wairarapa charge at the end of next month.

Wilson, who has been! appointed to the position of assistant director of the Workers' Educational Association tutorial classes at Sydney University, left Auckland yesterday by the Monterey for Sydney to take up his new duties. Mr. Wilson was formerly tutor-organiser of the .Workers' Educational Association in Dunedin.
Dr. Douglas Robb, honorary secretary of the' Auckland Division of the British Empire Cancer Campaign Society, will leave Napier today by the Port Adelaide for England. Dr. Robb, who will be absent from New Zealand for about eight months, will make a close study of cancer.. ...
Sir George Shirtcliffe was congratulated upon his elevation: to knighthood by the members of the board of the Wellington Investment Trustee and Agency Company,- Ltd., on Thursday. The chairman (Mr. G. G. Gibbes Watson) said the ■■. honour was a recognition not only, of a;long and distinguished career in commerce, but also of a long period of unostentatious public service and frequent generosity to worthy causes. . •. ■
