Brigadier the Hon. M. W. J. Bou» chier, chief secretary of the presenl Country Party Victorian Ministry, haj been appointed Agent-General for Vi« toria in London in succession to M» Richard Linton.

•Brigadier Bourchier served in tht AI.F. from 1914 to 1919 in Palestine Sinai, and Syria, being awarded th* D.S.O. in 1917. He was created a C.M.G. in 1918. He commanded the fifth cavalry brigade, Australian Military Forces, to 1921. In 1920 he was elected a member of the State legislative assembly for Goulburn, and held the portfolio of Minister of Agriculture and Markets from 1924 to 1927. He has been leader of the Victorian State Parliamentary Country Party since 193 i. He is a farmer. .
