HUTT POWER BOARD
The chairman (Mr. R. W. Bothaniley) presided at the meeting of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board yesterday afternoon.
The following comparisons of power sales from April 1 to December 31, 1934 and 1935, were given, the figures for 1934 being in parentheses:—Domestic lighting, £27,993 lls 6d (£27,539 2s sd); commercial lighting, £9154 16s 4d (£8215 13s Id); heating and cooking, £23 668 10s Id (£19,400 4s sd); water heating, £7891 6s 10d (£7277 4s lid); power, £17,901 6s Id (£15,713 11s 6d); public lighting, £3719 18s 5d (£3654 10s 7d). Totals (less discount): £77,966 16s 6d (£71,229 Is lOd). During December 48 new consumers were connected and a further 73 addition? were made to existing installations. The totais to December 31 weie as follows: —Number of consumers; 12,122; number of ranges installed, 2029; water heaters connected, 1702; connected load in k.w,, 47,332. The units registered for December were 1,935,400 (1,792,400 in the same month last year).
It was decided to make a grant of £25 towards the funds of the Free Ambulance.
