DEDUCING CHARGES?

HUTT POWER BOARD

A request that a report should be brought down by the engineer on the question of price reductions was made by Mr. J. W. Andrews at the meeting of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board yesterday afternoon.

Mr. Andrews said that lhe buoyant state ot the finances continued. The report revealed a surplus of nearly £8000 for the nine months, and he did not know of any high expenditure during the next three months.

The engineer and general manager (Mr. E. F. Hollands) said he had been at work for some time on the subject and March would be the earliest he could bring down his report. It was most difficult to make reductions that would suit all classes of consumers.
