CRESSWELL— SHARP.
The marriage was solemnised recently in the Salvation Army Hall, Constable Street, of Muriel Minnie, only daughter of Brigadier and Mrs. H. P. Sharp, Kilbirnie, to Jack Cecil, youngest son of Major and Mrs. Cresswell, Auckland. The. hall was tastefully decorated with pink and white carnations and gladioli, and the ceremony was performed by Colonel A. Orsborn, chief secretary of 'the Salvation Army. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore the regulation Salvation ■Army uniform with a white silk fringed sash over her right shoulder, caught together on the left side with a | spray of orange blossom which had j been worn by the bride's mother on the j occasion of her wedding. She carried a sheaf of white roses and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Thelma Scott and Captain Ivy Cress- i well (sister of the bridegroom). They j carried bouquets of shell-pink roses I and maidenhair fern. j The best man was Mr. R. VV. Sharp (brother of the bride) and Mr. R. Cresswell (brother of the bridegroom) was groomsman. Both men, as well as the bridegroom, wore the uniform of Salvation Army bandsmen. Messrs. K. Macaulay and B. Burton acted as ushers, and Miss Gray officiated at the organ. ■ During the signing of the resistor Mr. R. Armstrong contributed n vocal solo. A reception wns held at the Salvation Army People's Palace, Cub.i Street, where the room was beautifully decorated with white and pale pink (lowers. The guests were received by Mrs. Brigadier Sharp, mother of the bride, who was assisted by Mrs. Major Cresswell (mother of the bridegroom). The customary speeches were made, and Messrs. C. Mr. and Mrs. Cresswell left later, the latter wearing a fawn tailored coat with hat to match and brown accessories. Their future home will be in Auckland.
