BLAKE—BERTRAM.

An attractive wedding was solemnised at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, Kilbirnie, on Wednesday, when Ella Kate, younger daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Bertram, was married to Gordon Charles, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Blake, Kilbirnie. The Rev. I. E. Bertram, M.A., Auckland, uncle of the bride, officiated, and Miss Kobson played the wedding music. The church; was artistically decorated with ixias, sweet peas, and gladioli in shades of pink and blue., .

The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr. I. Bertram, of Manakau, wore a charming frock of parchment lace fashioned on classical lines. The bodice, cut with long close-fitting sleeves, was finished at the neckline with a. soft cowl, draping. The1 veil of magnolia tulle was held- in- place by a circlet of orange blossom which had been worn by the; bride's mother. The bride carried a sheaf of Christmas lilies-and maidenhair fern. -The bridesmaid was Miss.Marion Bertram, sister of'the bride. She wore a charming frock of floral georgette, with.deep blue velvet sash and large straw hat to tone. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. J.P. A reception was held at the. home of the bride, Rodrigo Road, Kilbirnie. The guests were received by Miss K. Bertram, aunt of the bride, and Mr. I. Bertram. Miss Bertram was wearing a graceful frock of black lace with a black picture hat, and she carried a posy of red carnations and sweet peas. They were assisted by Mr. and Mrs. A. C: Blake., the latter wearing a mauve ensemble with black'hat and posy of yellow flowers. :• (

The bride and bridegroom, standing under a large bell of white roses in the hall, greeted- the guests. '■' The breakfast was served in the billiard room, .where the table -was beautifully decorated ..with bowls: 6f ' pink and cream' rgses. Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Blake left for a motor tour of the north, the bride wearing a cornflower blue tailored costume with fawn hat" and accessories to tone.
