Hull, Christchurch, who arrived in Wellington this week by the Rangitane from' England, will spend Christmas with Mrs. Cockburn Hood, Wellington. . She will leave for Christchurch early in the New Year. The Misses M.' and D. Low, Remuera, Auckland, are visiting Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Howden, Moana Road, Kelburn, and their son, Richard, left today to spend the holidays at their cottage at Eastbourne. Mrs. Atkinson has returned to Wellington from a visit to Mrs. A. Wigley, Timaru. Mrs. M. C. Keane, formerly of Christchurch and Wellington, now resident in Melbourne, is on a visit to Wellington. , About 50 friends of Miss Nancy Bruce-Smith and her mother, Mrs. G. Bruce-Smith, of Manona, Wyuna Road, Point Piper, Sydney, were entertained at afternoon tea during the weekend to enable them to see the former's beautiful trousseau. Miss Bruce-Smith's marriage with Mr. Lan Arthur will be celebrated in Dunedin, New 'Zealand, on January 9, states the "Sydney Morning Herald." Sister Thompson has had considerable medical experience both in the British Solomons and in the New Hebrides groups. Mr. and Mrs. W. R.
