NO CAUSE FOR ALARM

SCARLET FEVER CASES

Owing to the occurrence of some cases of scarlet fever >t Paraparaumu members of the public' have been expressing nervousness about going to that district for'the: holiday season. Inquiries made from the Department of Health show that during the early part of December five cases of scarlet fever occurred amongst school children at Faraparaumu. Two of the cases occurred simultaneously. in one home. All five cases were removed to hospital and every precaution taken to prevent any spread ,of the disease. As the. cases all occurred in a few days it would, appear, that-there was one common source of infection which has now been removed, no further' case having occurred during the past eight days. It would appear .that there is no cause for any alarm, as Paraparaumu district is rat-present as free' from infectious.diseases as any other holiday resort.
