UNIVERSITY CLUB
The Victoria University College Defence Rifle Club held a musketry shoot at Trentham on Saturday. Weather conditions were generally good, for although there was a strong wind blowing from the rear this was not a noticeable handicap at the short ranges employed. , N The practices fired were:—(a) Grouping, 100 yards, possible 25; (b) application, 200 yards, possible. 25; (c) snap, 200 yards, possible 15; (d) rapid, 200 yards, possible 50; (c) application, 300 yards, possible 25. As a result of the shoot the following riflemen were classified as marksmen: —
G T Ryan 20 20 15 41 21—117 R. K. Keating 25 20 9 31 21—106 H. J.Abraham 20 23 12 37 13—105 J.B.C.Taylor 20 19 9 33 20—101 J M. Taylor 20 18 12 24 14-98 B. D. A. Greig 15 24 6 34 17— 96
In addition, the following were returned as "qualified":—H. M. Sansum, 10 23, 9, 35, 17—94; T. R. C. Muir, 15, 12, 6, 24, 12—69. . ■ . . Next Saturday an aperture, shoot will be held at 300 yds.
